Tornillo-Guadalupe Land Port of Entry
El Paso, Texas
A new Land Port of Entry on 117 acres amid surprisingly lush irrigated farmland 30 miles southeast of El Paso. Buildings are oriented along an east/west spine, generating a clarity of circulation and passage, and facilitating orderly staff movement and utility distributions. The building is of native stone and corrugated metal that refers to the area’s agricultural heritage. Solar photovoltaic panels supplement energy consumption. The project targets a LEED Silver designation for environmental sustainability.
